The roots of the Hotel,
from 1532 to today.

Tosco Romagnolo's history spans centuries and tells the story of a way of welcoming guests born in Bagno di Romagna and preserved, generation after generation, by the same family.
Once an ancient inn along the road between Romagna and Tuscany, the Hotel has transformed over time without ever losing its soul: welcoming guests, making them feel good, placing the table, rest, and the value of carefully crafted interiors at the heart of the experience.
Still today, between memories, hospitality and vision, this story continues to live on in every detail of the experience, recognised over the years by awards dedicated to hôtellerie, wellness, and signature cuisine.

The origins of hospitality
1532 is the first certain date linking Tosco Romagnolo to its long history of hospitality.
Written records show that, already at that time, in the very same place where the hotel stands today, there was an inn ready to welcome travellers and guests passing through. In a strategic position along the road connecting Cesena to Florence, this place gradually became a point of reference for those crossing the village.
This is where the soul of Tosco Romagnolo was born: authentic hospitality, handed down from generation to generation, which still preserves its family warmth today.

Locanda La Speranza
This chapter continues the story of the Marangoni family and their longstanding tradition of hospitality at Hotel Tosco Romagnolo, marking an important step in the hotel’s evolution. Management passed to Adalgisa Marangoni and Amedeo Casetti, who brought to Bagno di Romagna the experience, discipline and care for guests he had developed while serving a noble family in Padua. In 1955, Adriana and Arnaldo Casetti, Giordana’s parents, took over the hotel and continued to shape its growth. A new chapter began in 1971, when Giordana Casetti married Paolo Teverini, bringing hospitality and culinary excellence ever closer together. Today, the tradition continues with Paolo and Giordana, joined by their daughters Gaia and Melita, the next generation of the family.

The Paolo Teverini Restaurant
1986 marks a fundamental milestone in the history of Tosco Romagnolo. It is the year in which the Paolo Teverini Restaurant took shape: a space dedicated to signature cuisine, destined to become a point of reference in Italian gastronomy.
The journey towards excellence had already begun a few years earlier, with the achievement of a Michelin Star in 1983, a recognition that rewarded an innovative gastronomic vision deeply connected to the local area. From here, a cuisine was born capable of bringing together research, wellness, and respect for ingredients, interpreted with sensitivity, technique, and creativity.
Over the years, this philosophy would lead the restaurant to retain its Michelin Star for more than thirty consecutive years, establishing the Teverini name as one of the most authoritative signatures in Italian dining and hospitality.

The first Beauty Farm in Bagno di Romagna
In 1994, Tosco Romagnolo opened the first Beauty Farm in Bagno di Romagna, bringing a new idea of wellness to the area. No longer tied only to the traditional thermal world, but shaped around a more intimate, contemporary experience centred on the person.
Since then, wellness has become part of the hotel’s deepest identity, one of the features that makes it truly distinctive.

The first Bike Hotel in Bagno di Romagna
In 2012, Tosco Romagnolo became the first Bike Hotel in Bagno di Romagna, once again interpreting the local area with a contemporary vision.
A choice born from the desire to welcome a new way of experiencing a stay: through nature, movement, and the slow discovery of the landscape. In an ideal setting for those who love cycling among the Apennines, woods, and panoramic roads.
